Surrounding the central device is the Arabic legend recording the sultan's accession year and the mint name Constantinople, along with the Hijri date 1336. An inner beaded border and an outer decorative border of alternating stars and stylized foliate ornaments mirror those of the obverse, giving the coin a highly symmetrical and ceremonial appearance. The year numeral appears in the lower portion of the central field in Eastern Arabic numerals.
