| Obverse description | The obverse features a stylized representation of the Croatian national flag occupying the upper half of the field, with the Croatian coat of arms — the red and white chequy shield surmounted by the historical crowns of the five Croatian lands — centered at the top. The denomination '500' appears prominently in large numerals in the lower half of the field, with the currency name 'KUNA' inscribed below in bold relief.
