正面描述 Green and black letterpress print on white paper, with the denomination set within elaborate Greek-key guilloche borders along the upper register, flanked by classical pilasters each enclosing a vignette — Mercury with caduceus at left and Neptune with trident at right. The lower centre bears the lesser coat of arms of Denmark, attended by allegorical female figures representing Minerva and Ceres. The central text panel carries the bank's redemption pledge in gold coin.

备注

Nationalbanken i Kjøbenhavn — note the archaic spelling of the capital, dropped from official use by the early twentieth century — issued this high-denomination note across more than three decades, a span long enough that surviving examples vary considerably in the handwritten date completions and cashier signatures. The 500 Kroner face value placed it firmly outside everyday commerce; these moved between merchants, financial institutions, and government accounts.

J. Magnus Petersen was primarily known as a painter and illustrator, an unusual choice for banknote design work. Nicolaus Fristrup, responsible for the reverse, had a more conventional background in decorative engraving.

The series predates Denmark's formal central bank reorganization under the 1907 National Bank Act.
