Obverse description At center, the Czechoslovak Socialist coat of arms is depicted within a shield surmounted by a five-pointed star, featuring a rampant double-tailed lion in the dexter half and a flame motif in the sinister half. Flanking the shield to either side are stylized linden branch motifs with rounded leaves, characteristic of the designer's artistic style. The legend CESKOSLOVENSKA SOCIALISTICKA REPUBLIKA is inscribed in three lines below the shield, followed by the denomination 500 in large numerals and the currency abbreviation KCS in the lower field.
