A large central guilloche rosette carries the numeral 500, flanked by multicolour underprint in teal and brown; the series letter A and six-digit serial number are printed in red at upper left and upper right respectively. Comments

Czechoslovakia's early republic turned to the American Bank Note Company for several of its higher denominations — a practical choice given ABNCo's established relationships with newly sovereign European states in the aftermath of 1918. The 1923 500 Korun specimen (P#18S) belongs to that commissioning period, when Prague was still building institutional confidence in its currency after the 1919 separation from Austro-Hungarian monetary union.

Specimen examples were retained for archival and reference purposes rather than released into circulation. The "S" suffix designation confirms this status.
