A rectangular panel at the left bears the denomination inscription 伍佰 (five hundred) in Chinese characters, while the bank title 冥都銀行 appears in a framed cartouche at the top centre flanked by stylised dragon scrollwork. The inscription 天堂地府一律通用 runs along the lower border, and the numeral 500 appears in each lower corner.

The inscription 天堂地府一律通用 is rendered in large brush-style characters across the lower margin.
