Obverse description	Printed in black and red on an uncolored ground, the obverse presents two Javanese dancers — a male figure to the left and a female figure to the right — rendered as a central vignette flanked by the denomination expressed in numerals and words. The bank name and place of issue appear in the central panel between the figures, set within a guilloche underprint. Ornamental borders frame the composition on all sides.

Reverse description	Printed in a multicolor scheme of blue-grey, ochre, and rose, the reverse is dominated by a central vertical band of fine guilloche striping surmounted by a large ornate watermark window in the upper centre, flanked on each side by two large circular rosette vignettes in gold and blue with intricate geometric patterns. Anti-counterfeiting legal text in Dutch, Javanese (in Javanese script), Chinese, and Malay (in Jawi script) is arranged in vertical columns across the full width of the note, with the bank name "DE JAVASCHE BANK" and the large numeral "500" overprinted in the lower central field.
