| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features a raised central field displaying the coat of arms of Cameroon — comprising a shield with a vertical gold stripe bearing a star, flanked by crossed fasces — surrounded by the legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN at the top and the denomination 500 FRANCS CFA below. The motto PAIX TRAVAIL PATRIE / PEACE WORK FATHERLAND appears flanking the arms in bilingual French and English. | Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a richly detailed astrological composition centered on an ornate, polychrome colored depiction of the Libra scales — the seventh sign of the zodiac — rendered in vivid shades of red, teal, orange, and gold enamel against an intricate geometric background evoking the Flower of Life motif. The scales are elaborately stylized with decorative flourishes, and the central beam is surmounted by a lotus-like finial. Surrounding this central device is a broad annular border featuring a detailed star chart with constellation lines, planetary symbols including Venus and others, and graduated arc markings suggestive of an astronomical or astrological chart. Additional zodiac glyphs, including Cancer, Gemini, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Aquarius among others, are distributed across the border, while alchemical element symbols appear at the cardinal positions.
