Obverse description The obverse presents a highly detailed sculptural depiction of Mount Everest rendered in high relief against a broad mountain panorama filling the field. In the lower right of the field stands a prominent stone survey marker or stele bearing multilingual inscriptions including Tibetan script, Chinese characters, and the numeral 8848 denoting the mountain's altitude, topped with a circular survey instrument fitting. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the upper rim in bold raised Latin letters, while the denomination 500 FRANCS CFA and the date 2021 are inscribed along the lower rim. The antique finish imparts a warm golden-bronze patina throughout, accentuating the dramatic topographic relief of the mountain landscape.

Reverse description The reverse features an aerial or bird's-eye perspective topographic relief map of the Mount Everest summit and its surrounding glacial terrain, rendered in exceptional sculptural detail that faithfully reproduces the rocky and icy surfaces of the world's highest peak. To the left of centre, Tibetan script inscription identifying the mountain as Qomolangma (ཇོ་མོ་གླང་མ) is incused into the field. In the lower right, a small raised rectangular cartouche contains the figure 8848.86, referencing the officially surveyed summit elevation in metres as revised in 2020. The antique finish gives the entire surface a rich golden tone that emphasises the three-dimensional topographic contours.
