| Obverse description | The obverse is struck in the form of an upward-facing horseshoe, its inner and outer edges defined by a raised gold-plated border with a continuous beaded inner rim. The mirror-polished field is bisected by the legend REPUBLIQUE DU CONGO curving along the left arm and CONGO at the base, while 500 FRANCS CFA 2016 follows the right arm. At the bottom center of the field, the national coat of arms of the Republic of the Congo is rendered in fine relief. Three inset crystal embellishments are positioned at each upper terminal and at the base of the horseshoe, adding decorative brilliance to the composition. |
