Reverse description The large denomination numeral 500 appears prominently in the upper field, with FRANCS inscribed below it. A naturalistic spray of cacao plant branches, bearing pods, leaves, and blossoms, fills the lower portion of the field in fine relief, symbolizing one of Cameroon's principal agricultural exports. The bilingual circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN and REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON runs along the upper periphery, with the date centered in the exergue below the plant motif. The reverse likewise displays the decagonal inner border characteristic of the type.
