Opmerkingen

The Banque de la Réunion was not an independent central bank but a privileged colonial bank operating under French law, and its higher-denomination notes were produced by the Banque de France in Paris — effectively France lending its printing infrastructure to its own overseas territories. This note's production span of over two decades across wartime means it circulated under both the Third Republic and, unavoidably, the Vichy administration, with no change to the plate.

Marguerite Dreyfus, who signed her work "Rita," was one of the few female engravers working at the Banque de France's atelier during this period — a detail the note carries without announcing it.
