A bold black typographic overprint reading BANCO DE MOÇAMBIQUE and QUINHENTOS ESCUDOS is applied across the face of the note, superseding the original Banco Nacional Ultramarino issue dated Lisboa, 22 de Março de 1967. The denomination 500 appears in each corner, with ornate engine-turned borders framing the entire design. |
