Obverse description The National Coat of Arms of Armenia occupies the copper-nickel centre, depicting a heraldic eagle and lion as supporters flanking a quartered shield, with a sword, chain, sheaf, and other national emblems at the base. The Armenian legend reading 'Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia' curves along the upper portion of the outer copper-aluminium-nickel ring. The date '2003' appears in the lower portion of the ring, flanked by two decorative lozenge stops.
