The denomination «FIVE HUNDRED HONGKONG DOLLARS» and its Chinese equivalent «港幣 伍佰元» appear in red at centre, above a faint multicolour underprint of the Hong Kong cityscape. The date, place of issue, HSBC logo, and Executive Director's signature are positioned in the lower centre, with ornate guilloche panels at the corners and a vertical security band towards the right margin. |
