| Beschrijving voorzijde | The sixth definitive effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Jody Clark, occupies the central field, depicting the crowned bust of the Queen facing right. She is shown wearing the George IV State Diadem and the Victorian Coronation Necklace, rendered with fine detail characteristic of the high-relief striking technique. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 500 DOLLARS, with the engraver's initials JC appearing below the truncation of the portrait. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The Wedge-Tailed Eagle bullion series, launched by the Perth Mint in 2012, was designed explicitly to compete with established gold bullion programs from the Royal Canadian Mint and the United States Mint on the international investor market. The 5 oz format occupies an odd commercial niche — too large for most retail stackers, too common for serious numismatists — but has found consistent demand among institutional buyers and superannuation funds seeking allocated gold with Australian legal tender status.
The sixth portrait of Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, was adopted by the Perth Mint across its bullion range beginning in 2019.
