| Reverse description | Two superimposed effigies of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile are depicted centrally, representing her likeness at the beginning and end of her seventy-year reign. The foreground effigy portrays the Queen as an elder stateswoman, diademed with an ornate crown set with coloured gemstones, wearing a pearl necklace and drop earring. The second, more youthful effigy is rendered behind in lower relief. The commemorative legend THE QUEEN'S PLATINUM JUBILEE arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by the regnal dates 1952 and 2022 in the mid-field. The inscription 1/4 OZ .900 WHITE GOLD appears along the lower border. |

| Additional information |
White gold — technically a gold-nickel or gold-palladium alloy — carries no established numismatic tradition in sovereign coinage, which makes The Gambia's use of it here worth noting. The Platinum Jubilee itself marked Elizabeth II's 70th year on the throne, an occasion reached by no previous British monarch. She died in September 2022, roughly two months after the main jubilee celebrations concluded in June.
