| Obverse description | Central vignette presents a portrait of composer Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887–1959) set against a piano keyboard, with a Victoria amazonica water lily in bloom to the left and a manuscript excerpt from his symphonic poem Uirapuru in the background. The composition is framed on both sides by the maestro's own words — "Considero minhas obras como cartas que escrevi à posteridade sem esperar resposta" — repeated in two overlapping diagonal lines forming a decorative border.
