At lower center, an intaglio vignette of Simón Bolívar after the portrait by Philippe Froesch, with the numeral 500 beneath; the reserved watermark zone occupies the right margin. Serial numbers appear at upper right and lower left, the latter rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
