| 正面描述 | Portrait of General Augusto César Sandino in three-quarter view at right, wearing his characteristic wide-brimmed hat, rendered in fine intaglio engraving against a multicolour guilloche underprint. A large dark oval overprint at centre bears the new denomination numerals '500000' above the legend 'QUINIENTOS MIL / UN MIL CÓRDOBAS', applied over the original 1,000 Córdobas base note. The issuer's title 'Banco Central de Nicaragua' appears across the top, with series letter, serial number, and three signature panels with titles at the foot of the note. |

| 备注 |
Nicaragua's monetary crisis of the late 1980s moved faster than printing capacity could accommodate. Rather than commission entirely new notes, the Banco Central authorized provisional overprints on existing stock — this 500,000 córdoba value applied over the 1,000 córdoba base note is a direct artifact of that stop-gap policy, issued as hyperinflation rendered smaller denominations functionally worthless within months of release.
Thomas De La Rue handled both the original printing and the overprint work. The córdoba was replaced entirely by the gold córdoba in 1990 at a rate of 1 to 5,000,000.
