Obverse description The Polish national coat of arms — the White Eagle (Orzeł Biały) — is depicted in high relief at the center of the field, rendered without a crown as was customary during the Polish People's Republic era, with wings spread and head turned to the right. The date 1981 is divided on either side of the eagle's body, with '19' to the left and '81' to the right, and the mint mark 'MW' appears below the eagle. The circumscribed legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '· ZŁ 50 ZŁ ·' is inscribed prominently in the lower field beneath the eagle.
