50 Yuan Goddess Kuan Yin

China's Gold Kuan Yin series ran from 1990 through the mid-1990s and occupied an awkward position in the People's Bank of China's bullion program — neither purely investment product nor fully a commemorative, it was priced and distributed through channels that made Western accumulation difficult at the time of issue.
