| 背面描述 | The reverse is executed in green and orange-brown over a cream-yellow guilloche underprint, with a small pale red five-pointed star at the upper center field. The denomination "NĂM MƯƠI XU" is rendered in large green serif lettering at center, flanked by an ornamental lotus rosette underprint, with the numeral "50" in decorative cartouches at lower left and lower right. An intricate scroll and floral border, consistent with the series design, encloses the entire field. |

| 备注 |
The National Liberation Front's 1968 currency series was a political instrument as much as a monetary one — designed to assert the NLF's legitimacy as a governing authority in liberated zones of South Vietnam. This 50 Xu denomination was prepared but never formally released into circulation, making it genuinely rare; most examples that survive did so in uncut sheets or small lots that never reached the distribution network.
The NLF issued currency sporadically through the late 1960s, primarily in rural areas where Saigon's piasters were politically unacceptable or physically unavailable. The non-issuance of this particular denomination likely reflects the disruption caused by the Tet Offensive, launched in January 1968, which shattered the administrative capacity of NLF networks for months afterward.
