| Obverse description | Central field depicts the Soviet Lunokhod-1 lunar rover traversing the Moon's surface in detailed relief, with a stylized representation of the Moon's cratered disk rising in the upper portion of the field against a star-dotted background. A border of evenly spaced five-pointed stars encircles the inner field.
