正面描述 The obverse is printed on polymer in warm orange and gold tones with a multicolour guilloche underprint incorporating stars and radiating patterns. At centre-left stands a vignette of a Native Alaskan totem pole rendered in brown intaglio-style engraving, alongside the Alaska state coat of arms shield; at centre a teal orca-and-whale motif bears the inscription '49th STATE'. The portrait at right depicts Sheldon Jackson, a bearded man in formal attire with spectacles, identified by his name below; denomination numeral '50' appears in blue at lower left and upper right corners, with 'Alaska' in large blue letters at upper left, the year '1959' at top, facsimile signatures for TREASURER and COMPTROLLER at lower centre, and a serial number at lower left.

备注

Applied Currency Concepts produced a series of novelty "state dollars" to coincide with various American statehood anniversaries, and this Alaska piece dates to what the issuer frames as 1959 — the year Alaska achieved statehood. These are not legal tender in any jurisdiction and carry no monetary value. The QR code links to issuer promotional content, which is an unusual feature to find on a collectible of this type but consistent with ACC's marketing approach across the series.

Sheldon Jackson was a Presbyterian missionary and federal education agent who played a significant role in introducing reindeer herding to Alaska in the 1890s, attempting to address food scarcity among indigenous coastal populations.
