Commenti	The Government of Seychelles issued paper currency directly rather than through a chartered bank — an arrangement common to smaller Crown colonies where establishing a formal banking institution was impractical. This note belongs to a wartime series produced in London despite the Indian Ocean being an active theater of conflict, with supply lines to the islands severely disrupted after Japan's entry into the war in late 1941. B. Mortimer served as Governor from 1936 to 1942, making this among the last issues bearing his signature before his departure from the colony.
