Obverse description At left centre, a circular guilloche vignette frames a profile portrait of King George VI facing left, set within an ornate scalloped border. The denomination numeral '50' appears in each corner, with elaborate guilloche latticework forming the overall border of the note. The issuing authority and legal tender inscription are printed in the right half of the note, with the Governor's manuscript signature and date appearing at the lower centre.
