This 50-rouble note is a product of that fragmentation: a local authority filling a cash vacuum with whatever printing resources were at hand. The Kuban region changed hands repeatedly between White and Bolshevik forces throughout 1918–1920, and municipal issues like this one were frequently declared worthless overnight when control shifted. Survival rates vary considerably by denomination — smaller values tended to circulate harder and survive less.
