The numeral '50' appears in large format at both the upper right and lower left corners, with the English inscription 'Fifty Riyals' at the lower right. The right half of the note is filled with a multilayered geometric guilloche background in soft rose and lilac tones incorporating Islamic latticework patterns, with the issuer's name 'Qatar Central Bank' printed in English across the upper left. |

Qatar Central Bank replaced the Qatar & Dubai Currency Board in 1973, following Dubai's entry into the UAE, leaving Qatar to establish its own monetary authority. This 2003 series was issued during a period of rapid institutional modernization at QCB, though the note itself is conventional De La Rue production work with no notable printing anomalies on record.
Security provision here is modest by the standards of its issue year — watermark and embedded thread only, without the windowed or demetalized thread variants De La Rue was already supplying to other Gulf clients at the time.
