| 裏面の説明 | The denomination 50 REIS is inscribed in two lines at the center of the field in bold, incuse lettering. The central inscription is framed by a symmetrical wreath composed of two olive branches, tied at the base with a ribbon bow and extending upward along either side of the field. A row of beads runs along the inner border. The design is clean and typographically simple, consistent with Portuguese decimal coinage of the second half of the nineteenth century. |
