| Obverse description | The left portion of the obverse carries a text panel in Gothic script set against a fine guilloche underprint, bearing the issuing bank name, denomination in large Fraktur lettering, and the statutory authorization text dated 30 August 1924, with place and date of issue (Mannheim/Karlsruhe, 11 October 1924) and two manuscript signatures of the Vorstand der Badischen Bank below. To the right, an intaglio portrait vignette within an octagonal frame presents a three-quarter bust of Johann Peter Hebel, rendered in fine line engraving. Denomination numerals '50' appear at the upper right and lower right corners in red letterpress, with the serial number printed in red at top left and bottom right. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in reddish-brown tones on a dense guilloche underprint. To the right, a large circular vignette encloses the Baden coat of arms — an eagle above a heraldic lion — surrounded by concentric lathe-work rings with the inscription 'BADISCHE BANK' across the base of the shield. The denomination '50 RM' and 'REICHSMARK' appear in bold letterpress at centre, flanked by a vertical anti-counterfeiting warning text in Gothic script at left, and the bank name 'BADENBANK' arched along the upper and lower margins. |

The Badische Bank was one of four German private note-issuing banks permitted to continue operating under the Reichsbank Law of 1924, which restructured German currency following the catastrophic hyperinflation of 1921–1923. These regional banks retained limited right of issue under strict Reichsbank oversight — a compromise that satisfied local banking interests without undermining the new Rentenmark stabilization framework.
The Badische Bank's right of issue was extinguished entirely in 1935 when the Nazi government eliminated all remaining private note-issuing privileges.
