| Descrizione del dritto | Central field features the Sudanese state emblem: a secretary bird with outstretched wings displayed, bearing a shield on its breast, above a decorative cartouche bearing the Arabic inscription of the Republic of Sudan. The denomination appears on either side of the emblem, expressed both in Arabic numerals (٥٠) to the left and in Latin numerals (Ls. 50) to the right. An Arabic legend curves around the upper portion of the field, and the legend SUDAN flanked by Arabic date (١٩٧٩) and Latin date (1979) appears along the lower margin, above the exergual inscription ISLAMIC WORLD 15TH CENTURY. The coin is bordered by a beaded inner rim. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse presents a highly detailed panoramic view of the Prophet's Mosque (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi) in Medina, with its distinctive green dome and flanking minarets rendered in fine relief. In the foreground, a large crescent moon rises from below, its horns framing an ornate arabesque floral motif. Above the mosque facade, two circular medallions joined by a decorative stem bear the names of Allah (الله) and the Prophet Muhammad (محمد) in Arabic calligraphy. A brief Arabic inscription appears at the top of the field. The composition is enclosed within a beaded inner rim. |
