正面描述 Orange guilloche border frames the note on all sides, with the denomination numeral '50' and 'Pfennig' in blue letterpress at upper left and right corners. The title 'Gutschein' appears in large blue type at the top centre, below which a red serial number is printed, followed by the value inscription 'Fünfzig Pfennig' in bold blue Gothic lettering. A central text block states the redemption conditions and issue date of 26 March 1917, flanked on either side by a blue intaglio vignette of the Eilenburg municipal coat of arms, with the issuing authority 'Der Magistrat' and a manuscript signature below.

备注

Eilenburg's municipal authority issued this note under the emergency currency framework that allowed German cities and towns to print their own small-denomination Kleingeld from 1914 onward, filling the gap left by hoarded coins. By 1917 the program was well into its chaotic middle phase — hundreds of municipalities had entered the market, print quality varied wildly, and the Reichsbank was largely indifferent to standardization at this level.

The watermark is worth noting: it was an unusual security commitment for a note of this denomination and origin, most comparable Notgeld from small Saxonian towns relying on paper alone.
