The denomination numeral '50' appears in large black Fraktur script to either side of the shield, with the text 'Gutschein über Fünfzig Pfg.' below. A rectangular text cartouche at the lower portion gives the redemption conditions in small Fraktur type. |

At centre, an irregularly shaped vignette on a light ground portrays a woman in traditional Thuringian regional dress seated at a spinning wheel, accompanied by a second figure in an elaborate tall headdress with red decoration. A ribbon cartouche at the top reads 'Trachtenbilder', and a scroll cartouche at the lower centre contains a two-line verse in Thuringian dialect. |
