Opmerkingen

Bielefeld's Stadtsparkasse issued a substantial body of notgeld during the early 1920s inflation period, and this 50 Pfennig piece belongs to a series that became unexpectedly collectible almost immediately — dealers were actively trading unissued sheets before the hyperinflation had even peaked. The city's notgeld program was among the more administratively organized in Westphalia, with the Sparkasse maintaining tighter control over print runs than many municipal issuers of the period.

The "Ü" suffix in the reference designation indicates an überdruckt — an overprinted variant — distinguishing it from the base type within the 103.5a run.
