| 表面の説明 | Red and blue notgeld note with a central diamond-shaped vignette in black letterpress bearing the issuer's name 'Stadt-Sparkasse Bielefeld' and the denomination '50 Pf' in bold Gothic script, surrounded by a decorative scalloped border. Six circular medallions arranged around the central vignette each contain blue silhouette vignettes of local Bielefeld landmarks and guild symbols, including a rooster, a postal horn, and architectural motifs. Surrounding text arcs in Gothic lettering record population statistics and cite the municipal savings bank's mandate, with two manuscript signatures of the Magistrat authorities at lower centre, dated Bielefeld 15.5.21. |

Bielefeld's Stadtsparkasse issued a substantial body of notgeld during the early 1920s inflation period, and this 50 Pfennig piece belongs to a series that became unexpectedly collectible almost immediately — dealers were actively trading unissued sheets before the hyperinflation had even peaked. The city's notgeld program was among the more administratively organized in Westphalia, with the Sparkasse maintaining tighter control over print runs than many municipal issuers of the period.
The "Ü" suffix in the reference designation indicates an überdruckt — an overprinted variant — distinguishing it from the base type within the 103.5a run.
