正面描述 The obverse is printed in black and tan on plain paper, with the overall design rendered as a classical temple pediment supported by fluted columns framing a central rectangular panel. A frieze band across the architrave carries the Latin inscription 'DULCE ET DECORA EST PRO PATRIA MORI', and the denomination '50 PFENNIG 50' appears in a cartouche at the upper portion of the panel. The lower section of the panel contains printed text recording the issuing authority, validity date of 6 April 1921, the place Neustadt a.R., a manuscript signature, and the printer's imprint 'Appelhans, Braunschweig' at the foot of the note.

背面描述 The reverse is printed in black, grey, and tan on a dark background, with a central oval vignette encircled by a wreath of laurel and chain motifs enclosing a conical stone war memorial tower dated '1914–18' and bearing a cross, flanked on either side by rising flames. A steel helmet in profile is placed at each upper corner of the composition, and artillery shell cartridges appear beside each helmet. The denomination numeral '50' is repeated in large stylised figures at left and right, and the place name 'Rodewald' is inscribed beneath the central vignette.

备注

Kreissparkasse Neustadt am Rübenberge was one of hundreds of district savings banks that resorted to issuing Notgeld during the early 1920s as small-denomination Reichsmark coinage effectively vanished from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply inadequate in volume for the postwar economy. This particular series was printed by Appelhans Verlag in Braunschweig, a firm better known for regional publishing than banknote production, which puts it squarely in the improvised, civilian character of the Kleingeldersatz wave.

The DeNG reference places it within a documented series of eight notes (suffixes .1 through .8), suggesting the Kreissparkasse issued multiple design variants under the same authorization.
