| Description de l’avers | A pearl border runs along the octagonal periphery, enclosing a circular rope border within which the municipal coat of arms of Finsterwalde is centrally displayed, depicting a heraldic shield with a tower above a fortified wall and decorative flanking elements. The Latin legend arcs around the upper and lower portions of the rope circle, reading STADTGEMEINDE at the top and FINSTERWALDE N/L at the bottom, each separated by a small floral ornament. The overall design is characteristic of World War I German notgeld emergency coinage, with a plain recessed field between the pearl border and the rope circle. |

The large denomination numeral '50' is boldly struck in the center of the field. The circular legend KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE arcs around the upper portion of the rope border, identifying the piece as a small-change substitute token. Three six-pointed stars are evenly spaced at the base of the rope circle, serving as decorative separators in the lower exergual area. |
