Obverse description Central oval vignette presents a panoramic landscape view of Lehesten town set against rolling Thuringian Forest hills, rendered in fine letterpress engraving. Denomination cartouches reading '50 Pfennig' occupy the upper left and right corners against dark backgrounds with red-outlined numerals, flanked by a diamond-pattern border running the full perimeter. Below the vignette, two heraldic shields — one bearing a conifer tree, the other a miner's crossed hammer and pick — frame the issuing text panel, with a serial number printed in a pale green guilloche underprint and the facsimile signature of the Bürgermeister above it.
DEZEMBER 1921
MERZDORF & FROSCH, SAALFELD a.S.
Reverse description The central vignette presents a finely engraved illustration of a historic Rennsteig boundary stone standing amid a Thuringian Forest woodland, the carved stone bearing numerals and heraldic motifs. An amber-toned text panel at the top carries a verse inscription, while the lower amber panel bears the legend 'gebiet der wettiner' in a bold gothic typeface. The upper left corner holds a circular medallion with the Thüringerwald-Verein emblem, and the lower left bears a decorative round seal dated 1895; the whole composition is enclosed within the same diamond-pattern border used on the obverse.
