Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse is printed in olive-green and black on cream cardboard stock. At the top, a two-line verse in Gothic Fraktur script reads across the full width of the note, enclosed within a ruled border. Below, the central vignette presents three heraldic shields set within arched niches separated by decorative columns: the left shield bears the Thuringian lion with a banner inscribed "Thüringen", the centre shield displays the electoral Saxon arms dated 1547 with a banner above, and the right shield shows two fish with a star for the city of Weißensee. The lower portion is divided into three panels: at left, the validity notice text in Gothic script; at centre, the bold denomination "50 Pfennig" in a ruled cartouche; and at right, the place and date of issue "Weißensee, den 1. August 21" above the printed title "Der Magistrat:" and a manuscript facsimile signature.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse is printed in the same olive-green and black palette, with two vertical side panels in olive bearing verses in Gothic Fraktur script flanking a central architectural vignette. The central illustration renders a line-drawn view of the historic Weißensee town hall, a multi-storey stone structure with a tall clock tower surmounted by a cupola, depicted in a bold woodcut-like style with fine hatching. The printer's imprint "Alfred Hanf - Erfurt." appears in small roman type below the central vignette.
Opschrift keerzijde Zweimal durch viesges Feuers Wut zerstört, als drittes Haus des Schmucks beraubt, verbaut:
Bist du en Bau, der wiesigs uns beschet, der in Sie Zukunft uns hoffens schaut.
Alfred Hanf - Erfurt.
