Reverse description The reverse presents, on the right portion, a detailed woodcut-style panoramic vignette of Ehrenbreitstein as it appeared circa 1549, rendered in fine line engraving and showing the fortified town atop a rocky promontory with a river in the foreground; an underprint ghost text of the town name is visible behind the vignette. A vertical ornamental panel on the left edge incorporates an interlaced diamond-and-scroll geometric border in brown and black with the denomination numeral '50' set within a hexagonal cartouche. The artist's name 'RAULAND' appears in the lower right corner.

Ehrenbreitstein issued this note just two years before the city ceased to exist as an independent municipality — it was absorbed into the newly consolidated Koblenz in 1937. The Schaar & Dathe printing house in Trier was a prolific producer of Rhineland Notgeld during the early 1920s inflation spiral, responsible for a significant share of the municipal emergency currency that flooded the region when small-denomination coinage vanished from circulation almost entirely.

The designer credit to Rauland is uncommon for a note of this modest face value. Bürgermeister Wagner's signature appears in the authorizing line.
