| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in dark red and violet on cream paper, the obverse carries a pale blue-grey underprint vignette of the Gotha city panorama — rooftops, church spires, and townscape — across the lower half. The upper portion is occupied by a block of Gothic-script (Fraktur) text setting out the Notgeld legal tender conditions, introduced by a large ornate red initial capital 'D', with the issuing authority legend 'Der Stadtrat' and facsimile signature of Dr. Scheffler as Oberbürgermeister centred below. The denomination '50 Pfennige' is rendered in bold red Fraktur along the lower edge, the serial number printed vertically in the left margin, and the place and date 'Gotha, 15. Juli 1921' positioned centrally. |
