Liebenwerda's 1921 Notgeld series carries an unusual distinction: the designer credited is Karl Blossfeldt, the Berlin-based photographer and educator who would later achieve international recognition with his 1928 botanical photobook *Urformen der Kunst*. Whether his involvement here was a local commission or a personal connection to the district is unclear, but the Gummidruck (rubber-plate printing) process used by C.
