| Descrizione del dritto | Printed in blue-green on white paper, the obverse is divided into two zones by an ornate letterpress border: the left panel contains a decorative cartouche with a coat-of-arms motif incorporating chalices and vine ornaments, with the denomination '50 Pfg' in large Gothic numerals below, while the right panel carries a panoramic vignette of the town of Staufen with the conical Schlossberg hill rising in the background. A scroll cartouche beneath the townscape bears the inscription 'Staufen im September 1920' alongside a facsimile signature of the Gemeinderat. The legends are set in Gothic typeface throughout, with the issuer name and denomination value occupying the upper register. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Printed in brown-ochre on cream paper within a decorative letterpress border, the reverse is organised into two vignette zones: the left side bears a heraldic lion device above an engraved view of a historic town building with a fountain square, while the central woodcut-style illustration — initialled 'J.H.' at lower right — renders the legend of Doctor Faustus being carried off by a winged devil. The right half is occupied by an extended Gothic-script text recounting the Faust legend and the note's redemption conditions, with the denomination '50 Pfg.' and a serial number at the foot. |

Anno 1539 ist im Leuen zu Staufen Doctor Faustus so ein wunderbarlicher Nigromanta gervest elendiglichen gestorben und es geht die Sage der obersten Teufel einer der Mefistoffel den er in seinen Lebzeiten nur sein Schwager genannt habe ihm nachdem der Pact von 24 Jahren Dauer abgelaufen das Genick abgebrochen und seine arme Seel der ewigen Verdamnis überantwortet. Die Gültigkeit erlischt an dem durch den Gemeinderat Staufen im Amtsblatt zu bezeichnenden Tage. |
