| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is divided into three vertical panels on a tan and ochre ground with a decorative border of interlocking wave and dot motifs. The central panel bears a full-length vignette of a crowned female figure — the personification of the city — rendered in a Jugendstil idiom, holding a spray of flowers and resting one hand on a heraldic shield displaying the Bavarian lozengy arms above the Deggendorf town arms. The left octagonal panel carries the validity disclaimer text in blackletter script, while the right octagonal panel bears the issuing authority details, date, and a manuscript signature of the rechtsk. Bürgermeister; denomination numerals "50" appear in each corner. |

| Opmerkingen |
Deggendorf's municipal authority issued this note in 1918 as small-change shortages bit hard across wartime Bavaria — copper and nickel had long since been redirected to the war effort, and coins below one Mark had effectively vanished from daily trade. Stadtmagistrat issues of this type were authorized under emergency Kriegsgeld provisions but remained the financial and legal responsibility of the issuing municipality, not the Reich.
The printer, A. Schwarz of Lindenberg im Allgäu, handled a number of Bavarian Notgeld commissions during this period. Heinz Schiesta's design credit is relatively uncommon for municipal issues at this denomination — most were purely typographic jobs with no named designer involved.
