| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is printed in black on a grey-green guilloche underprint composed of repeated text reading 'AMTSHAUPTMANNSCHAFT DRESDEN-NEUSTADT' and numeral '50' arranged in diagonal rows across the entire field. The denomination is stated in Gothic blackletter script as 'Gutschein über fünfzig Pfennig' in the upper portion, below which a central dark oval cartouche carries the bold numeral '50' in white. Validity text reads 'Gültig im Bezirk der Amtshauptmannschaft Dresden-Neustadt bis zum 31 Dezember 1918', and three manuscript signatures of issuing officials appear at the lower centre beneath the issuer inscription. |

Bezirksverband notgeld of this kind proliferated across Saxony in 1918 as the imperial coinage system collapsed under wartime metal shortages — local administrative districts (Amtshauptmannschaften) were authorized to fill the small-change vacuum with paper scrip, redeemable only within their jurisdiction. Dresden-Neustadt was the rural district surrounding the city, administratively distinct from Dresden proper.
Krey und Sommerlad in Niedersedlitz, a southeastern Saxon industrial suburb, printed for numerous regional notgeld issuers during this period. Their output was functional rather than decorative — none of the elaborate collector-oriented series that arrived in 1921.
