| Descripción del anverso | The obverse is printed in dark blue-black on a warm buff ground with an overall fine guilloche underprint in brown. At top centre, the issuing authority is inscribed in Gothic blackletter followed by the word 'Gutschein' in large display type, with the numeral '50' repeated at each upper corner. A prominent central oval guilloche frame encloses the denomination spelled out in large Gothic script 'Fünfzig Pfennig', below which the place and date 'Lahr i/B. 12. Juni 1917' appear. At the foot of the note, two facsimile signatures are accompanied by the titles 'Oberbürgermeister' and 'Ratschreiber' flanking the text 'Der Stadtrat:', with a two-line validity and anti-counterfeiting notice in small letterpress at the very base. |

| Descripción del reverso | The reverse is printed entirely in brown and displays a large central oval guilloche medallion containing the civic arms of Lahr — a shield divided into quarters with a tower motif, surmounted by a winged child's bust — encircled by concentric lathe-work bands and radiating rosette ornaments. Flanking the central medallion are two smaller symmetrical elliptical guilloche rosettes, all set against a fine engine-turned network background covering the entire field. A curved partial inscription referencing the city appears along the upper and lower arcs of the central vignette. |
