| 备注 |
The Banco Nacional de Cuba was established only in 1950, replacing the old monetary arrangement under which Cuba had no true central bank of its own — U.S. dollars had circulated interchangeably with Cuban pesos for decades prior. This series, printed by ABNC, represents the institution's first decade of operation before the revolutionary government restructured the entire monetary system after 1959.
Notes from the later end of this date range — particularly those issued 1959–1960 — carry signatures of officials appointed under Castro's new administration, making the signatory combination a meaningful dating tool when the printed year alone is insufficient.
