Obverse description Central vignette is an intaglio portrait of General Calixto García Iñiguez set within an oval frame at center, printed in black over a yellow guilloche underprint. A red seal of the Banco Nacional de Cuba appears at left, with serial numbers printed in red for the 1950 and 1958 issues and in black for the 1960 issue. Denomination numerals and bank title appear in the surrounding border panels.

Reverse description The Cuban national coat of arms is rendered in an oval intaglio vignette at center against an orange and yellow guilloche underprint, with denomination legends in Spanish positioned to the left and right of the central device. The country name arches across the top of the note, with the legal tender clause contained in the lower border panel.
