正面描述	Dark green intaglio-printed note with the bank title EL BANCO OCCIDENTAL in an arched banner across the top, flanked by numeral 50 counters in each upper corner. The central vignette is dominated by a large guilloche-framed numeral 50, with a vignette of a multi-story building to the left and a steamship or locomotive scene at a waterfront to the right. The lower border bears the date 1° de Setiembre de 1919, the place San Salvador, the denomination CINCUENTA PESOS, and the imprint of the American Bank Note Co., New York, with SPECIMEN overprints in red and cancellation punch holes.

A central oval medallion contains the national arms of El Salvador, encircled by the bank name BANCO OCCIDENTAL and the legend REPUBLICA DE EL SALVADOR. The imprint AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY, NEW YORK appears at the lower margin.
